“Makfa” superior grade wheat flour – 150 grams;
“Makfa” semolina – 150 grams;
baking powder – 1 teaspoon;
sugar – 2 tablespoons;
vanilin – 1/2 teaspoon;
butter – 150 grams;
dried dates – 200 grams;
honey – 2 tablespoons;
crushed walnuts – 50 grams;
lemon juice – 1 tablespoon;
cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon.

1. Mix flour, semolina, baking powder, sugar and vanilin. Add melted butter and mix the dough into fine crumbles.
2. Cut the dates into fine pieces, put them into a stewpot, add 125 ml of water and boil for 5 minutes. Add honey, nuts, lemon juice, cinnamon and stir.
3. Heat the oven to 190°C. Cover a 20 cm round baking dish with baking paper, put a half of the dough over it and apply pressure evenly. Spread the filling on top and cover it with the second half of the dough.
4. Bake the pie over medium heat for 45 minutes. Serve after cooling.
