Since 2016, MAKFA JSC has actively cooperated with the National Association of Dietitians and Nutritionists of the Institute of Nutrition under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Experts on dietetics are all sure: children’s diet must include pasta. But there are a number of issues important for the children’s menu.
It is crucial that children’s pasta is made exclusively from durum wheat. The key difference between hard and soft wheat is in carbohydrates. Hard varieties have complex carbohydrates, their starch has a polymeric structure, so the boiled pasta is not mushy, which ensures quick and long-lasting satiety. There are two cooking times indicated on pasta packs: al dente (it. “to the tooth”), when pasta remains elastic and absorbs the sauce better, and scotta when pasta is soft and mushy. Choose the cooking time depending on the type of meals. If your child loves pasta as a side dish, you should cook it until ready, so that your baby can chew it more easily. If you plan additional ingredients and a sauce, it is recommended cooking pasta for a couple of minutes less. It gets soft and tasty when it absorbs the sauce.
